The Story Behind the Brew

The love story of coffee begins in the 16th century with a curious shepherd named Kaldi. He noticed his sheep were unusually lively after eating the bright red berries of a certain bush. Intrigued, Kaldi tried them himself—and soon felt the same burst of energy, thanks to the natural caffeine within.

According to legend, the beans’ bold red color sparked suspicion, leading a village priest to toss them into a fire. But instead of destruction, this act revealed something magical: the rich, fragrant aroma of roasted coffee—the very first time it was ever experienced.

Fast forward to 1901, when Italian inventor Luigi Bezzera transformed the coffee world by creating the first espresso machine. This breakthrough turned coffee into more than a beverage—it became a daily ritual cherished across cultures. Today, coffee is celebrated not only for its flavor but also for its health benefits, from aiding weight management to reducing the risk of certain diseases.
